Erewash Canal

The Erewash Canal stretches from the River Trent and the Soar Navigation at Trent Lock all the way to Langley Mill. Here, it connects with the now disused Nottingham Canal and the Cromford Canal, which is currently undergoing restoration efforts. At Langley Mill, the restored lock provides access to the Langley Mill Basin and serves as the first lock on the historic Cromford Canal. This important waterway holds both historical and practical significance, linking key points in the canal network and contributing to ongoing preservation initiatives.
