Situated in the Derbyshire town of Kirk Hallam, Sowbrook Lake is a well-loved spot for recreation. It is part of the Nottingham Anglers Association, one of the largest fishing clubs in the Midlands, with just over 2,400 members.
The lake was established in 2001 by converting an old quarry that was too deep to accommodate a large number of fishing nets. Due to its depth, the lake now hosts a variety of fish species, with carp being the most common, alongside roach, bream, and tench.
